FAQ’s for Families

  • Chapter One Early Learning is open from 7.30am - 6:00pm.

    Please ensure you arrive 10 mins before closing to gather your Childs belongings and speak with staff about your child's day.

    Automatic late fees apply if staff are unable to close at 6pm.

  • We aim to cater for the dietary requirements of all children enrolled at our Service.

    Our educators undergo allergen awareness training . Please discuss your child’s special requirements, allergies and any other medical conditions with us.

  • Our Service uses OWNA software which includes a Family App to provide updates about your child.

    Otherwise our service is always available via phone.

  • We are a breastfeeding friendly service.

    Please discuss with us options available to suit your needs.

  • Meals - We provide a nutritionally balanced morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack. Our service provides filtered drinking water for children's water bottles.

    Please note - no food is to be brought into the service at any time including birthday cakes or lollies.

    Nappies - We provide nappies and nappy cream at our service for children that require them.

  • Chapter One has a strict sickness policy which excludes any child from attending when unwell.

    We take every child’s health and well-being into account when considering the spread of coughs, colds and other infectious illnesses.

    We reserve the right to refuse care or require collection if we feel the child is too unwell for daycare or infectious.

  • At Chapter One our process for families is:

    • Waitlist - submit a waitlist application.

    • Tour - we will contact you to arrange a service tour

    • Enrolment - When a suitable place is available

    • Orientation - in the week prior to starting

  • We offer orientation sessions of approx one hour each with a parent or family member present.

    We recommend these visits take place in the 7 days prior to Childs first day.

  • The Child Care Subsidy is a means tested government subsidy based on the combined family income, the fortnightly activity of families such as work, study or volunteering and the type of service a child attends.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to apply for CCS on your behalf.

    However, we will provide you with step-by-step guidelines to assist you through the requirements to apply for the subsidy.

    We aim to make it as easy for you as possible.
